Sweets Collections began in 2011 as a way for artist and owner Rosa Rodriguez to fuse her artistic passion and love for Mexican culture. The concept of Sweets Collections is a unique and innovative take on the world of desserts. It draws inspiration from the traditional concept of an art collection, but instead of paintings or sculptures, it focuses on the artistry of dessert making, with a particular emphasis on handmade gelatin creations. This creative venture brings together the worlds of culinary art and traditional art collection, resulting in a delightful and visually stunning array of desserts. Now, Sweets Collections continues to grow and spread art to the Bay Area community for special occasions and private gatherings.
About the Cake Artist
Rosa Rodriguez is an artist from Mexico whose work combines the bold colors of nature and edible art. As a child, Rosa filled her friends’ walls with these gifts on canvas, believing that all art should be shared. It was this early love of art and the desire to share its beauty that inspired her to study the art of Floral Gelatin and later to start her own business. In 1997, life forced Rosa Rodriguez, a former attorney, on an unexpected journey. Leaving behind law for art, she found happiness in gelatin-making. Rosa aspires to share her Mexican culture through her gelatin masterpieces serving as edible expressions, inviting others to savor joy and artistry.
